Design that lasts. Prints that don't warp. A studio built on precision.
I’m Zhangkai, and I started 3Dstackers because I was tired of seeing 3D prints that looked great on a screen but failed the moment they met the real world, especially in the Singapore heat.
I have spent over a decade in the digital world, but my passion has always been about doing things right. 3Dstackers is my way of bringing technical rigour and industrial-grade durability to everyone, from local families to corporate partners.
The Journey from Screen to Studio
My background isn't in hobbyist printing; it is rooted in professional production. I’m a DigiPen Institute of Technology graduate (BFA in Digital Art and Animation) and was fortunate enough to be an SIT Scholar.
Before moving into my own studio, I served as a Management Executive at the Ministry of Education, leading 3D pipelines for science curricula. While I love the creative side, I have always had a mind for the "nuts and bolts". During my time there, I managed to reduce procurement costs by 70% just by refining how we sourced and tracked our work.
I also modernised our workflow by integrating advanced AI tools. By utilising platforms like Hyper3D, Hugging Face, and generative models, I streamlined the creation of 3D assets, audio, and imagery. I bring that exact same blend of strategic efficiency and modern technology to every project I take on today.
The 3Dstackers Edge: Why we do things differently
Most shops use cheap, brittle plastics like PLA because they are easy to work with. I don't. In our tropical climate, a 3D print shouldn't warp just because it was left in a car.
AI-Accelerated Design: While our physical prints are built to be tough, our digital workflow is built for speed. I leverage AI to accelerate the initial conceptualisation and 3D modelling phases. This allows me to turn your raw ideas into printable 3D meshes faster, passing that efficiency directly on to you.
The PETG Standard: I exclusively use high-performance PETG for our functional products. It is stable up to 80°C, meaning it is "Singapore Sun Certified".
Indestructible by Design: I have spent countless hours in the R&D phase, obsessing over slicer settings and layer logic. Whether it is our "Cross-Zag" stencils or a spinning top with 100% infill for a perfect centre-of-mass, I build things to be effectively indestructible. If a one-year-old can't break it, I have done my job.
Zero-Waste Tech: Using our Bambu Lab H2C systems, I have calibrated our workflow to eliminate the "plastic purge" waste typical of multi-colour printing. It is better for the environment and better for the build.
Sharing the Maker Mindset
I have always loved teaching, from volunteering on handicraft projects abroad to providing professional training during my time at the MOE. We are currently preparing to launch a series of 3D Printing and 3D Pen Workshops across Singapore. My goal is to show both kids and adults that they don't just have to be "consumers": they can be "makers" who know how to solve problems with their own two hands.
Let’s Build Something
3Dstackers is more than just a business for me; it is a commitment to quality. I'm stacking my years of technical experience with a new vision for sustainable, high-quality manufacturing.
When you start with a solid foundation, your ideas really do stack up to the challenge, because I believe in doing things right from the very first layer.
